Racketeer Radio KFQX The New Golden Age of Radio
A fresh force has emerged from the Bay Area’s punk rock undercurrent. Tess & The Details, a four-piece, female-fronted punk outfit, are making waves not only for their breakneck riffs and electrifying live shows but for the meaningful message stitched into every chord.
Formed in 2023 and already making a name for themselves up and down the West Coast, the band released their debut album Runaway on November 14, 2023. The record—tracked at ModernTone Studios in Lafayette, California—was helmed by producer Jacob Light and released jointly under Double Helix Records (U.S.) and Engineer Records (U.K./E.U.).
Now the band has resurfaced with a blistering new single, “Take Me Alive” — a defiant anthem about survival, self-ownership, and refusing to be silenced.
The track charges forward with driving guitars, an urgent rhythm section, and a commanding vocal performance from frontwoman Tess, who delivers each line with raw conviction. Lyrically, “Take Me Alive” dives into themes of identity, resistance, and reclaiming power — a sonic battle cry for anyone who’s ever felt underestimated.
The accompanying music video, matches the track’s intensity. Shot in stark urban backdrops and flashing neon corridors, the visuals showcase the band’s gritty aesthetic, high-energy presence, and trademark attention to detail. Scenes alternate between explosive performance shots and narrative moments that mirror the song’s message of inner strength and rebellion.
“Take Me Alive” marks a bold evolution in sound and vision for the band — tighter, tougher, and even more unapologetically themselves. With more releases and tour dates on the horizon, Tess & The Details are proving they’re on the rise!
“As the follow-up to our debut album ‘Runaway’, we wanted to expand our sound while staying true to who we are – a band that cares about the ‘Details’ in everything we do. We hope you enjoy this song and video…” the band stated on social media.
Tess & The Details stand apart with their mission: to foster awareness around mental health, promote gender equality, and champion optimism in a genre known more for angst than advocacy. Through their lyrics, social platforms, and direct engagement with fans, the band has cultivated a rare connection—rooted in authenticity, resilience, and intention.
The name “Details” isn’t a flourish—it’s a philosophy. From hand-crafted merch designs to curated stage outfits, song order, and set lists, the group brings a meticulous approach to every aspect of their performance. It’s punk rock with purpose.
Since their debut, the group has appeared on a growing list of punk compilations including Punk Rock Saves Lives, Attention! from Wiretap Records, Distort The Bay via Destroy Art Inc., and Australia’s Pee Approved by Pee Records.
They’ve shared the stage with punk legends like Fishbone, Swingin’ Utters, The Meteors, The Last Gang, and The Drowns, staking their claim among the scene’s modern torchbearers. With tours across California and the Pacific Northwest already behind them, 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year of expansion.
While some bands chase trends, Tess & The Details are forging a legacy—one lyric, one show, one connection at a time.
