Emerging from the ashes of Promise Me This and Holy Fangs, LA’s Stoke Signals have wasted no time in making their mark on the SoCal punk scene. Since their explosive debut in January 2024, the band has captured the attention of punk fans, both locally and beyond. With their energetic live shows and a sound that blends melodic aggression with a sharp sense of humor, Stoke Signals is quickly becoming a band to watch.
The anticipation surrounding their debut album has been building, and fans don’t have to wait any longer. On September 20, the band digitally released their first full-length album, Make Dying Fun, on Stay Tough Records. A collection of 12 high-octane tracks that perfectly encapsulate their unique brand of punk rock. The album’s melodic hooks and infectious energy have already made waves in the scene, and with the upcoming release, Stoke Signals are poised to cement their place as one of the most exciting new acts in the genre.
In celebration of the album’s release, the band has scheduled a record release show on November 1 at The Cinema Bar in Culver City, CA. Fans can expect a full-throttle live performance, with the band playing the new songs from Make Dying Fun in their entirety. In addition to digital formats, Make Dying Fun will be available on both vinyl and cassette, and new merchandise will be on hand for fans to grab at the show.
The band’s latest single, “Neon,” offers a glimpse into the kind of relatable, often humor-laced storytelling Stoke Signals brings to their music. Frontman Giuliano Messina shared some insight into the song’s origin:
“‘Neon’ is about this house show I played in Vegas once, followed by being up late drinking and all that, and then had to be up early the next morning to drive home. And like, I’m just not a morning person so that sucked. I’m pretty dramatic about not being a morning person though I guess, since I wrote a song about it,” Messina laughed.
With their signature blend of melody, raw energy, and wit, Stoke Signals have already become a fixture in the local punk scene, and Make Dying Fun is set to take their momentum to the next level. Be sure to catch their November 1 show and get your hands on their debut album, because Stoke Signals are just getting started.
