Slaughterhouse and Flores y Fuego Share Some Wax with a New 7” featuring 4 Bangers!

Every so often, the underground music scene gives us a collaboration that feels predestined—two creative forces that, when combined, produce something truly explosive. The new split 7” between Los Angeles-based Slaughterhouse and Mexico’s Flores y Fuego is precisely one of those moments. Pirates Press Records is thrilled to bring this powerhouse pairing to vinyl for the first time, featuring four blistering new tracks from these formidable bands.

On their side of the 7”, Slaughterhouse delivers “Poison” and “State of Emergency,” two tracks that were previously only available in digital form. For those unfamiliar with the band, Slaughterhouse has been a relentless force in the LA punk scene since 2017, known for their ferocious blend of early 80s death rock and punk. Despite the pandemic’s disruption and a few lineup changes, the band has emerged stronger than ever, ready to reclaim their spot in the scene.

With a new vocalist and fresh material, Slaughterhouse’s live shows have been electrifying, leaving fans craving more. The year 2024 has been a landmark one for the band, with high-profile gigs supporting punk legends like Bad Religion and Descendents, a performance at Punk Rock Bowling, and their first European tour on the horizon. Their contributions to this split capture the raw, incendiary energy that has made them a staple of the LA punk underground.

On the flip side of the record, and on the other side of the border, Guadalajara’s Flores y Fuego offers up two brand new tracks. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music since the release of their groundbreaking debut album Altar, and this split 7” delivers in spades. Flores y Fuego’s hardcore punk sound has only deepened in intensity, with these new songs exploring even darker, more visceral territory than their previous work.

In the time since Altar dropped, Flores y Fuego’s live performances have cemented their reputation as an unstoppable force, sharing stages with bands like Turnstile, Amyl & the Sniffers, and MESS. Lead vocalist Melisa’s signature scream remains as fierce and unrelenting as ever, driving the band’s sound into even more ferocious realms.

This split 7” is truly a double A-side, with each band contributing tracks that could easily stand alone as singles. Together, however, they create a record of extraordinary power and intensity. Both bands bring their A-game, with each track complementing the others in a way that feels natural, almost inevitable. Adding to the record’s appeal, both Slaughterhouse and Flores y Fuego have created their own unique cover art, further emphasizing their distinct yet complementary styles.

For fans of underground punk, this split 7” is more than just a record—it’s a rare, combustible moment where two incredible bands come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Grab it while you can; this is one piece of wax that’s destined to become a classic.
