SEATTLE SWINGS TO THE BRAT BEAT: CLEAN LINES DROP “NUISANCE” EP

If it’s rock pedigree you’re after, look no further than the latest buzz from the Emerald City. Seattle’s Clean Lines have rolled onto the scene with a style sharper than their moniker and a sound described as “brat rock” by none other than producer extraordinaire Johnny Sangster (credits include Mudhoney, The Briefs and The Posies).

A finely aged cocktail of seasoned rockers, these fellas have strolled through the annals of rock history in bands like The Briefs, Circle Jerks, Geraldine Fibbers, and Boss Martians. If those names mean nothing to you, well, why are you still reading?

Seattle’s club circuit regulars will tell you Clean Lines can hold their own alongside acts like Mean Jeans, Tommy & The Commies, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, and The Kids. Steve E. Nix didn’t just stumble into Clean Lines. He once saw them perform and reportedly declared, “I really want to be in this band!” And the rest, as they say, is history.

Clean Lines’ latest sonic offering, the Nuisance EP. Is it power pop? Punk? A revival of the raw,

rebellious sounds of the ‘70s? Clean Lines themselves humbly proclaim they’re some of the finest purveyors of contemporary ‘70s-style rock ‘n’ roll and power pop you’ll hear this year. And if that’s not enough to pique your curiosity, this vinyl treasure is available stateside from Spaghetty Town Records, with Ghost Highway Recordings (Spain) and Wanda Records (Germany) catering to the international jet set.

The Nuisance EP is available on major streaming and download platforms on now, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. Ladies and gentlemen, it seems Seattle’s got a fresh brat pack—and they’re making plenty of noise worth listening to.
