The Punk Rock Museum opens April 1st?!

March 22, 2023

The Punk Rock Museum opens with guided tours starting on April 1st, 2023! May tour guides announced!

After years of planning and tireless collaboration from the punk collective, The Punk Rock Museum will open its doors on April 1st, 2023! Also, on April 1st, our bar, The Triple Down, will be open to ensure all thirsty visitors are well hydrated. The name for the bar was inspired by two legendary punk bars, The Triple Rock and the Double Down. The Triple Rock Social Club was a bar, music venue, and restaurant in Minneapolis, co-owned by Erik Funk of the punk band Dillinger Four. P Moss, founder of the Vegas landmark Double Down Saloon will co-manage the Triple Down bar at The Punk Rock Museum.

When the doors open, visitors will feel the passion that has gone into the museum as they explore 12,000 square feet of exhibits encompassing five decades of punk history. This will include the Jam Room, where guests can play instruments originally owned by punk musicians who wanted to give them a permanent home to be shared by many. Chris Shiflett from Me First and The Gimme Gimmes contributed his green guitar featured on the back cover of the band's album 'Take A Break,' released on Fat Wreck Chords in 2003.

Pete Koller from Sick Of It All has donated his white ESP Viper guitar to play in the Jam Room for a hands-on experience. As well, Pete will be doing guided tours on April 14th-16th. When Pete got asked the question of what he was most looking forward to when being a tour guide, he said, "I am very excited to share my stories about some of the exhibits at the punk rock museum even if I don't know the true story I will make some shit up for you."
