If punk rock had a patron saint of wild nights, dubious decision-making, and stories best left untold, Laundromat Kingpin would be singing its praises. A fresh, unserious punk rock project with roots in a veteran act, this new musical force is storming onto the scene with “Miracle on St. Patrick’s Day,” a raucous and true-to-life single set for release this Friday, February 21st!
Laundromat Kingpin isn’t exactly new blood in the punk world. The mastermind behind the project spent decades tearing up stages with M-80, a coastal Rhode Island punk band that made waves in the early 2000s. M-80 ran with the big dogs while staying indie—gracing a leg of the Warped Tour in 2003, landing sponsorship deals, scoring a distribution partnership, and even sneaking their music into TV and film soundtracks. After 25 years of loud, fast, and rebellious music (with a hiatus for life’s responsibilities), M-80 called it a day in 2023, going out in style with a sold-out hometown reunion show.
But, as any punk rocker knows, the itch to create never really goes away. Enter Laundromat Kingpin.
Laundromat Kingpin is a fresh take on punk—energetic, satirical, and unafraid to poke fun at everyday absurdities. This isn’t about posturing or nostalgia; it’s about having a damn good time. Launched in early January 2025, the project was meant to be a slow burn, but the overwhelmingly positive reaction has accelerated its momentum.
The band is now building toward live shows and a fall release of 5-8 new tracks. The latest single, “I Don’t Want to Go to the Bank,” set the tone. Now, with “Miracle on St. Patrick’s Day,” the band is doubling down on what it does best—spinning everyday experiences into punk rock anthems.
“Miracle on St. Patrick’s Day” isn’t just a song—it’s a battle cry for every barfly and late-night legend. Inspired by a particularly outrageous evening at a local pub and live music venue, the track recounts the kind of night that starts with good intentions and ends in a blur of chaos, camaraderie, and questionable choices. In true punk rock storytelling fashion, the details are delivered just as they’re ‘remembered’—loud, fast, and full of heart.
With rowdy guitars, punchy hooks, and lyrics that drip with barstool wisdom, the single captures the spirit of a genre built on celebrating the moment, however reckless it may be.
With the music resonating more quickly than expected, Laundromat Kingpin is moving to the next phase—assembling a live band to bring these songs to sweaty, beer-soaked venues across the country. And with a larger project planned for fall, it looks like this laundromat is just getting warmed up.
Stay tuned, and get ready to raise a pint (or ten) on February 21 when “Miracle on St. Patrick’s Day” officially drops. Until then, follow Laundromat Kingpin on social media, crank up the volume, and let the good times roll.

Tales of the absurd and bizarre made their way to the airwaves through this strange and eccentric old time radio series. Ripley's Believe It or Not starred non other than Robert Ripley himself as he shared his out-of-this-world discoveries and experiences while traveling around the globe. His standard practice was to take note of the unusual sights and practices he came across during his travels and chronicled them in his journal. It was not until 1930 that the program was made available to a public audience. Hear audio scripts from his journal while we play the best music for your morning!
