Kill Lincoln Set to Release ‘NO NORMAL’  & Begin US Tour

By Ace Hartmann | Racketeer Broadcast Association  |

The wait is almost over for fans of Kill Lincoln, the Washington D.C. ska punk band that has been making waves in the underground music scene since 2007. The band is set to release their long-awaited fourth studio album, NO NORMAL, on September 27th, 2024, through Bad Time Records. This highly anticipated album was recorded in March 2024 at District Recording in San Jose, CA, under the guidance of Ryan Perras. Remarkably, the recording sessions took place exactly four years after their previous album, Can’t Complain, was laid down in the same studio.

Since August 2nd, fans have been able to pre-order NO NORMAL on vinyl and in digital formats, with Bad Time Records handling U.S. distribution and Caffeine Bomb Records taking charge in Japan. The album comprises 11 tracks that encapsulate the high-octane energy of KILL LINCOLN’s live performances. With its chaotic and explosive sound, NO NORMAL serves as a cathartic release of pure ska punk intensity.

The first single, “I’m Fine (I Lied),” also released on August 2nd, has already begun to set the tone for the album. The track is emblematic of the album’s overall approach—shorter, faster, and louder, with an intensely catchy hook that resonates on a deeply relatable level.

Formed in 2007, KILL LINCOLN has been a stalwart of the underground ska scene, steadily building their reputation throughout the late 2000s and 2010s. Their breakthrough came with the release of Can’t Complain in 2020, a milestone that coincided with a surge in popularity for both the band and their label, Bad Time Records, which was founded by KILL LINCOLN’s lead vocalist and guitarist, Mike Sosinski. The success of the album opened up new opportunities, leading to several headlining U.S. tours, as well as international support tours with Big D & The Kids Table in the UK, Tokyo Ska Paradise, and HEY-SMITH in Japan. They’ve also supported national tours with iconic bands like The Slackers, The Suicide Machines, and Mustard Plug.

KILL LINCOLN has earned a reputation as one of the best up-and-coming live ska punk acts in the world. Their shows are known for their focus on crowd participation, fun, and unpredictability, blending melodic hardcore with third-wave ska punk and “New Tone” sensibilities. NO NORMAL captures this essence in a new, long-awaited LP that highlights each band member’s unique skills and personalities.

The album features a vocal contribution from Yasutaka Umemoto on the Mike Park-penned track “Coming or Going,” showcasing the band’s collaborative spirit. CJ Uy’s razor-sharp bass lines and guitar solos, along with a dance feature and background vocals from hype-man Drew Skibitsky, add depth and excitement to the album. The result is a record that is catchy, powerful, relatable, fun, and explosive—no filler, no rules, and no slowing down.

With NO NORMAL, KILL LINCOLN is not just stepping into a new chapter; they are propelling themselves forward with an unstoppable force. Fans can expect nothing less than a high-energy, no-holds-barred experience that solidifies KILL LINCOLN’s place at the forefront of the modern ska punk scene.

This Fall, the band will be touring the album as they hit the roads and stages Supporting Big D and The Kids Table, The Suicde Machines, The Planet Smashers, and Less than Jake at select shows, which you can see below, as tickets are on sale now and available here
