Good Riddance have released their latest single, “No More System to Believe In,” a melodic anthem of disillusionment that speaks directly to the sense of societal breakdown many are feeling today. In true Good Riddance fashion, the song channels frustration and a deep sense of dissatisfaction with the world’s current state into a fast-paced, emotional punk track, reminding listeners that we have the power to drive change if we engage with the issues at hand.
“No More System to Believe In” mourns the erosion of trust in the systems once expected to uphold unity and liberty. The song’s biting lyrics highlight how the struggles of one should matter to all, and vocalist Russ Rankin’s powerful delivery drives home the importance of rebuilding this interconnectedness. “A society meant to be interconnected, where the voiceless suffering and malaise of our neighbors are ours as well to bear,” Rankin reflects in a statement accompanying the release. “If we want to see real change, we’ve got to get involved.”
The song encourages listeners to be proactive—whether by voting or getting involved in their communities—emphasizing that it’s up to each of us to make a difference. It serves as a call to action, reminding people that the power to repair broken systems lies in collective effort. The track’s message is further underscored by a striking lyric video created by artist J Sek of backyardgraffix.com, available now on Good Riddance’s YouTube channel.
Rankin continues his impassioned plea in a statement that reads more like a manifesto for social consciousness: “For no machination of government, nor whip of authority, may succeed in stifling our capacity to care for, and support one another in what must ultimately be a unified struggle for vitality, liberty, and a more equitable distribution of life’s blessings.”
In support of the upcoming election season, Good Riddance is donating 100% of proceeds from their “No More System to Believe In” T-shirt sales to the Fair Elections Center, a nonprofit dedicated to removing barriers to voting. Fans can grab their own T-shirt via the band’s online store to support the cause.
