Dropkick Murphys has just released their latest film, THIS MACHINE RISING, which is now available for free streaming on their official YouTube channel here. In an unexpected but welcome move, the band has made the film accessible to everyone, allowing fans to watch it whenever they want, as many times as they want, and to share it with friends and fellow music lovers without any restrictions.
The film marks a significant moment for the band as it chronicles the conclusion of their acoustic era, which has dominated their sound for the past couple of years. Known for their high-energy performances and powerful anthems, Dropkick Murphys have taken a reflective turn in recent times, producing acoustic music that resonated deeply with fans. However, with THIS MACHINE RISING, the band signals a return to their loud, punk roots, much to the excitement of their global fanbase.
THIS MACHINE RISING is more than just a concert film; it’s an intimate look into the band’s journey through the acoustic era and their anticipation of the future. Featuring a mix of live performances, behind-the-scenes footage, and candid interviews, the film captures the essence of what makes Dropkick Murphys one of the most beloved punk bands in the world.
Fans who stay until the end of the film are in for a special treat—bonus interviews with iconic musicians Billy Bragg and Tom Morello. These interviews provide additional insights into the music and message of Dropkick Murphys, as well as the broader punk and folk scenes. Billy Bragg, known for his politically charged lyrics and folk-punk style, and Tom Morello, the guitarist of Rage Against the Machine and a fierce advocate for social justice, share their thoughts on the band’s impact and the importance of music as a tool for change.
In a statement accompanying the film’s release, the band expressed their excitement about moving forward with new music. “As the acoustic era of the past couple years comes to a close, we’re excited as hell to share some loud punk music with ya — very very soon!!” they said, hinting at a return to the sound that first made them famous.
Dropkick Murphys have always been known for their strong connection with their fans, and by making THIS MACHINE RISING freely available, they continue to demonstrate their commitment to sharing their art with the world. The film is already generating buzz online, with fans eagerly awaiting the band’s next musical chapter.
Whether you’ve followed Dropkick Murphys from their early days or are just discovering their music, THIS MACHINE RISING offers a compelling look at a band that refuses to stand still, always pushing forward while staying true to their roots.

Information Please is an radio quiz show, created by Dan Golenpaul, which aired on NBC from May 17, 1938, to April 22, 1951. The title was the contemporary phrase used to request from telephone operators what was then called "information" and later called "directory assistance". The series was moderated by Clifton Fadiman. A panel of experts would attempt to answer questions submitted by listeners. For the first few shows, a listener was paid $2 for a question that was used, and $5 more if the experts could not answer it correctly. When the show got its first sponsor (Canada Dry), the total amounts were increased to $5 and $10 respectively. A complete Encyclopædia Britannica was later added to the prize for questions that stumped the panel. The amounts rose to $10 and $25 when Lucky Strike took over sponsorship of the program.
