Racketeer Radio KFQX The New Golden Age of Radio
BROOKLYN, NY — The filthy floors, sweat-stained walls, and feedback-screaming speakers of punk’s most hallowed hall may have been silenced since 2006, but CBGB—long thought gone for good—is roaring back to life in the loudest way possible. CBGB Fest 2025 is officially on, and it’s not just a tribute—it’s a defiant resurrection.
Set to detonate on September 27 beneath the industrial sprawl of Brooklyn’s Under the K Bridge Park, this one-day, three-stage blowout will bring 21 blistering acts to a city that still pulses with punk’s original heartbeat. Presented by CBGB & OMFUG and The Bowery Presents, this isn’t just another festival—it’s a declaration: Punk never died. It just went underground.
Headlining this chaos incarnate are two icons whose names carry enough voltage to short-circuit a borough: Iggy Pop, the godfather of punk himself, and Jack White, the genre-hopping guitar shaman who’s never met a distortion pedal he didn’t love. But the biggest jolt? The Sex Pistols—yes, those Sex Pistols—returning to a U.S. stage for the first time in over 20 years, with Frank Carter (of Gallows fame) on the mic, and Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock turning up the voltage behind him.
Joining them is a lineup that could level an entire decade. Punk legends like The Damned, Marky Ramone, and Murphy’s Law will share the stage with new-school torchbearers like Destroy Boys, The Linda Lindas, and Scowl. There’s even a taste of hardcore with Cro-Mags and Gorilla Biscuits, and some genre-bending chaos from Soul Glo, Angel Du$t, and Lip Critic. In other words: expect no lulls, no fillers, and absolutely no acoustic sets.
Tickets drop Friday, May 16 at 10 AM, with a presale Thursday, May 15. But here’s where it gets gritty and great: NYC punks under 25 can snag the limited “Young Punk” tickets—just $73, a not-so-subtle nod to the year CBGB first flung open its legendary doors in 1973. Only 350 of these will be sold—matching the original club’s legal capacity—and they’ll be available in person at the Music Hall of Williamsburg box office starting Saturday, May 17 at noon. for more ticket information and festival details head to cbgbfest.com
From the shadow of the Bowery to the steel beams of Brooklyn, CBGB Fest 2025 isn’t just a show. It’s a resurrection, a celebration, and a middle finger raised high to everything sanitized and safe. It’s CBGB, back from the dead—and louder than ever.
