Racketeer Radio KFQX The New Golden Age of Radio
Here in Seattle we just had a streak of cold for a few weeks, well cold for us Pacific Northwesterners, but the temp is back to normal and Spring is in the air! We know its heating up in Texas and what better way to celebrate than with a high-energy gathering of rockabilly lovers, vintage enthusiasts, and car show fanatics? This Sunday, just north of Austin, the first-ever Retro RoundUp rolls into town, bringing with it an afternoon of music, fashion, food, and community From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m—all wrapped up in that classic vibe.
Expect the sounds of Ready Betty to electrify the atmosphere with a mix of surf-rock, rockabilly, and pure unfiltered energy. Their all-woman lineup is set to take the stage at noon, delivering two hours of foot-stomping tunes that’ll have the whole crowd moving.
But it’s not just about the music. If you’re looking to freshen up your wardrobe, the Local Pinup Closet Purge has you covered. Forget endless online searches—here, you can browse through a curated selection of vintage and reproduction treasures, all from fellow rockabilly fans. And if shopping works up an appetite, grab some cold brews from Rockabilly Brewing and feast on mouthwatering BBQ from BBQ Fiends to keep you fueled for the day’s festivities.
Want a little extra excitement? Just RSVP and you’ll be entered into the Retro RoundUp Raffle, featuring prizes from some of the biggest names in the vintage and rockabilly world. Winners will be announced at the event, so stick around!
And what’s a classic old-school event without the perfect soundtrack? Racketeer Radio KFQX will be heard all throughout Retro Roundup, setting the mood with the best in rock ‘n’ roll, rhythm & blues, and rockabilly classics and favorites. Whether you’re on-site or tuning in from afar, the station will keep the spirit of the event alive.
So dust off your favorite retro threads, gather your crew, and join us for a Sunday filled with good tunes, great finds, and an unbeatable community vibe. See you at Retro RoundUp!
