Hi-Tide Recordings Launches New Imprint “Go-Time” with Release of Ichi-Bons 45
Hi-Tide Recordings, an international record label group and lifestyle brand based in Freehold, New Jersey, has announced the launch of a new imprint called “Go-Time.” This new venture aims to offer a broader spectrum of music, including rock ’n’ roll, country, garage, and more. The first signing to Go-Time is the Toronto-based band Ichi-Bons, whose debut EP was released on the Hi-Tide label in 2023.
Ichi-Bons has rapidly gained a reputation for their electrifying live performances, supporting renowned acts such as Jack White, The Damned, The 5.6.7.8’s, and Messer Chups. Their festival appearances include the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend in the USA, the Rockin’ Race Jamboree in Spain, and the Hi-Tide Summer Holiday in the USA. The band’s upcoming 45, “Snake Eyes / Watusi Zombie,” will be Go-Time’s inaugural release, available on September 13, 2024. This release coincides with Ichi-Bons’ tour with The Reverend Horton Heat and Big Sandy in the northeastern USA, see full tour dates below.
“It’s time for a new sound,” says Vincent Minervino, co-founder of Hi-Tide Recordings. “We are thrilled that Hi-Tide Recordings & Nu-Tone have captured unique audiences these last few years. As our artists evolve and we take new partnerships, it feels like the right time to widen the scope, again,” adds co-founder Magdalena O’Connell.
Founded in 2014 by Minervino and O’Connell, Hi-Tide Recordings initially focused on surf and exotica music. Since then, it has grown into a global leader in the genre. In 2022, the label expanded with the addition of Nu-Tone, specializing in cinematic funk, Latin, soul, and more. The label group is distributed by The Orchard, a division of Sony Music.
“We’ve had so much great music hit our inbox that just didn’t fit into either label,” explains O’Connell. “It’s been exciting to reimagine the possibilities with the launch of Go-Time – and we can’t wait to tell you more.”
Ichi-Bons embodies the reckless rock ‘n’ roll revival, drawing inspiration from obscure surf, garage, and rockabilly 45s. They seamlessly blend the raw energy of a cranked rock ‘n’ roll band with the eclectic sounds of a raunchy vinyl DJ, creating a unique and dynamic musical experience. With the launch of Go-Time and the signing of Ichi-Bons, Hi-Tide Recordings continues to push the boundaries of their musical offerings, bringing fresh and exciting sounds to a diverse audience. Fans can look forward to more innovative releases and performances as Go-Time begins its journey in the music world.

Information Please is an radio quiz show, created by Dan Golenpaul, which aired on NBC from May 17, 1938, to April 22, 1951. The title was the contemporary phrase used to request from telephone operators what was then called "information" and later called "directory assistance". The series was moderated by Clifton Fadiman. A panel of experts would attempt to answer questions submitted by listeners. For the first few shows, a listener was paid $2 for a question that was used, and $5 more if the experts could not answer it correctly. When the show got its first sponsor (Canada Dry), the total amounts were increased to $5 and $10 respectively. A complete Encyclopædia Britannica was later added to the prize for questions that stumped the panel. The amounts rose to $10 and $25 when Lucky Strike took over sponsorship of the program.
