Hunx and His Punx Unleash New Single Before Release of New Album!

California’s irrepressible queer‑punk brigade Hunx and His Punx are back with a fiery new track, Wild Boys,” and an eagerly awaited full-length return after a 12-year hiatus. With their upcoming album Walk Out on This World dropping August 22 via Get Better Records, the band is hitting the road, featuring a stop right here in Seattle on August 26 at Clock‑Out Lounge.

Since reuniting in 2019, Hunx, led by the flamboyant Seth Bogart (Hunx) and featuring powerhouse Shannon Shaw and Erin Emslie, has endured personal tragedies—Shaw lost her fiancé in a car accident, and Bogart’s home was damaged in California wildfires.

Despite setbacks, they completed Walk Out on This World—the band’s first album since 2013’s Street Punk and the newest single, Wild Boys lands with raw energy and unapologetic queer intensity. As Punknews reports, it’s the third preview from the upcoming LP, following lead single “Alone in Hollywood on Acid”. The album’s 12-track tracklist reads like a punk-poetic odyssey—titles such as “No Way Out,” “Rainy Day in LA,” and “Grab Yr Pearls” evoke emotional depth and end-of-days grit.

Formed in 2008 by Seth Bogart post-Gravy Train!!!!, Hunx and His Punx quickly carved out a niche with queer-infused bubblegum punk reminiscent of 1960s girl groups. Their debut, Gay Singles (2010), merged explicit queer lyricism with surf-pop charm. Too Young to Be in Love (2011) carried the performance to its first studio LP, followed by the raw grit of Street Punk in 2013.

The new lineup—Hunx, Shaw, Emslie—has evolved into a trio melding queer queercore defiance with

poignant pop melodies and personal storytelling. On Tuesday, August 26, Hunx and His Punx will take the stage at Clock‑Out Lounge.

Expect the theatricality Bogart brings—zebra-print vinyl, flamboyant stylings—and punk bursts that can swing from cheeky camp to punchy rage in under a minute. Fans can also anticipate hearing earlier tracks like 2022’s “White Lipstick,” plus selections from the new LP that speak to resilience in the face of grief and the need for queer escape
