Rise Against Unveils “Ricochet”: A Call for Connection in a Divided World

After a four-year silence on the album front, punk rock titans Rise Against are set to shatter the quiet with their most ambitious and resonating work to date. Their highly anticipated new album, Ricochet,” is slated for release on August 15th via Loma Vista Recordings, promising a powerful sonic experience that delves deep into the interconnectedness of our modern world.

Frontman Tim McIlrath reveals the album’s core philosophy, explaining, “Ricochet is about our collective inter-connectedness. We started with the title track and that being about how we’re all — whether we like it or not — stuck in the same room, so to speak. Everything you do is going to affect somebody; everything you throw will affect the next person. We’re connected to other countries, other economies; we’re connected to undocumented immigrants. We’re connected to every decision our leaders make. It’s all one big ricochet effect. That idea is the backbone of this album.”

Across twelve meticulously crafted tracks, Rise Against — with GRAMMY®-winner Catherine Marks (Boygenius, Foals, Manchester Orchestra, St. Vincent) at the helm for production and Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers) handling the mix — challenge listeners to look beyond superficial divisions. “Ricochet” urges us to consider who truly benefits from the collective discord and unhappiness that permeates society, prompting a deeper look at the consequences of our actions on each other. The album’s message is one of profound unification, massive in its sound, yet anchored in the quiet introspection that can spark significant positive change.

The mission of self-determinism explodes to life on the searing lead single, I Want It All, which serves as an ardent, ambitious, and unapologetic jump-start to the band’s latest chapter. It’s a track that revs the engine and demands listeners lean in.

Rise Against isn’t just delivering new music; they’re bringing their electrifying live show back to the masses. Having already torn through LA’s Kia Forum and toured three continents this year, the band is hitting the road hot on the heels of the album announcement. Fans across the globe can catch them on an impressive EU/UK tour and festival headliner run in June, followed by a highly anticipated return to Vans Warped Tour, and dozens of arena and amphitheater shows across the US.

In a time when the stakes could not be higher, Rise Against returns with a poignant and powerful message. “Ricochet” is more than just an album; it’s a rallying cry for self-awareness and collective responsibility, urging us to recognize the ripple effect of every choice we make.
