Bridge the Gap Set Sophomore Album ‘Gainsayer’

The wait is over— come Friday as Gainsayer, the electrifying new full-length from Bridge The Gap, has officially arrived. Available via Double Helix Records in collaboration with SBAM Records and Pee Records, the album delivers a powerful, melodic statement from a band that knows exactly who they are and where they’re going.

Gainsayer is a high-octane, 14-track burst of songwriting precision and emotional punch. Featuring

standout singles like Broken Language,” “Dustbin,” “Brothers,” and “In The Throes,” the album has already caught fire in the punk press, with nods from V13, Punk News, New Noise Magazine, and more. But accolades aside, Gainsayer is best understood with the volume cranked—raw, radiant, and relentlessly catchy.

Bridge The Gap’s journey is one rooted in friendship and second chances. Having made music together in the ’90s, life eventually pulled the members in separate directions. But around 2020, the spark reignited. Chad Jensen (vocals/guitar) found himself with a backlog of demo material and a hunger to create again. When he shared his songs with longtime friends Shon Foster (bass/backing vocals) and Ryan Thompson (drums/backing vocals), the connection was instant—and Bridge The Gap was born.

They wasted no time and reached out to legendary producer Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag, ALL), landing in The Blasting Room with Stevenson and engineer Jason Livermore (NOFX, Rise Against, Hot Water Music) to record their debut Secret Kombinations. That first release captured lightning in a bottle—and now, with Gainsayer, they’ve bottled a whole storm.

“The focus on Gainsayer was songwriting and melody, as opposed to displays of virtuosity that don’t serve the song,” shares Jensen. “There are plenty of riffs and killer drums, but we wanted to deliver a well-written, melodic tour de force that grabs the listener from the first track and never lets up.”

And that’s exactly what Gainsayer is: bold, tuneful, and deeply intentional. Every track showcases tight arrangements, hook-laden choruses, and the kind of vocal layering that elevates melody into something almost spiritual. As Jensen puts it, “Make no mistake—Gainsayer features plenty of killer riffs, melodic, ripping solos, powerful, nuanced drumming, and bass lines galore. But the foundation of this record is the strength of the vocal melodies and the songs themselves.”

The first pressing of Gainsayer is available in four limited-edition vinyl variants, sold through Double Helix Records in the U.S., SBAM Records in the EU, and Pee Records for Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. For collectors and longtime fans, these records are a must-own—a physical snapshot of a band in its prime.

With the new album out in the world and a Spring 2025 release tour in the works, Bridge The Gap are ready to keep climbing. They’ve evolved beyond nostalgia into something sharper, wiser, and more cohesive. Gainsayer isn’t just a return—it’s a reckoning.
