Seattle’s own Dead Bars are back with a roaring new single, “I Wanna Be a Ghost,” heralding their highly anticipated third LP, All Dead Bars Go to Heaven, set for release on March 21, 2025, via Iodine Records. Fueled by sweat, passion, and an unshakable belief in the power of rock ‘n’ roll, Dead Bars continue to define their own brand of high-energy, life-affirming punk rock.
Since their inception in 2013, Dead Bars have made a name for themselves by delivering raw, anthemic singalongs with a defiant edge. Formed by vocalist John Maiello and drummer C.J. Frederick, the band quickly built a following through a series of 7” releases and electrifying live shows at dive bars, DIY spaces, and punk festivals. Their first two full-length albums, Dream Gig (2017) and Regulars (2019), received critical acclaim, solidifying their status in the punk rock underground.
With All Dead Bars Go to Heaven, Dead Bars open a new chapter while staying true to their raucous roots. The album, produced by John Maiello & Evan Foster, Engineered by Evan Foster at No Count Studios in Seattle, WA and mastered by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden (Jeff Rosenstock, Joyce Manor, Paint It Black), promises ten powerhouse tracks that blend raw emotion with unstoppable energy. From the punchy opener “I Wanna Be a Ghost” to the cathartic closer “Be Me,” the album captures both the reckless abandon and hard-earned wisdom of a band that has spent over a decade making punk rock look effortless.
Maiello’s unmistakable gravelly vocals, paired with blistering guitars and pounding drums, make every track a battle cry. Songs like “Bad Life” introduce a newfound vulnerability, weaving poignant string sections into the band’s wall of sound, while “Missed Connection” balances nostalgia and urgency in a way only Dead Bars can. The record doesn’t just celebrate the past—it paves the way for the future, proving that Dead Bars are more than just a band; they’re an institution in the making.
With a recent tour alongside Off With Their Heads and plans for an extensive U.S. tour in 2025, Dead Bars are poised to bring their beer-soaked, stage-diving ethos to a new generation of punk devotees. Whether in a cramped basement venue or on a festival stage, their mission remains the same: to turn the volume up, let loose, and remind us all that music is a sanctuary for the restless and the reckless.
As the band proclaims, “Dead Bars Forever.” And with All Dead Bars Go to Heaven, they prove they mean it.
