Bridge The Gap Unleashes “Dustbin” Ahead of Highly Anticipated Album “Gainsayer”

Melodic punk torchbearers Bridge The Gap are back, and they’ve brought the heat with their newest single, Dustbin.” Premiered exclusively via V13, the track arrives alongside a gritty new music video, setting the stage for their upcoming sophomore album, Gainsayer, out April 11th on Double Helix Records, with worldwide distribution via SBAM Records and Pee Records.

“This is a song about the risk of history repeating itself due to ignorance,” shares vocalist/guitarist Chad Jensen. “We had so much fun making ‘Dustbin.’ Once again, we had the opportunity to work with Eric Cannon, and together, we had some fun ideas for the music video that really panned out. We had a fun hang with some Bridge The Gap fans in Las Vegas who got to be in the video, along with some friends and even family. We love the gritty feel of the video. It complements the song well. And it was a blast working with Eric for the second time. He’s super knowledgeable, experienced, creative, and makes it really easy on the band and fun.”

Fans can pre-order the first pressing of Gainsayer now, available in four limited-edition vinyl variants through Double Helix Records (U.S.), SBAM Records (EU), and Pee Records (Australia, New Zealand, Japan).

A band forged in camaraderie and passion, Bridge The Gap started as a group of friends making music in the ‘90s. After a hiatus to focus on family and careers, the spark reignited around 2020 when Jensen, along with bassist/vocalist Shon Foster and drummer/vocalist Ryan Thompson, rediscovered their musical chemistry.

Their 2023 debut album, Secret Kombinations, was a lightning-in-a-bottle moment, recorded with the legendary Bill Stevenson (Descendents, ALL, Black Flag) at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado. Without a PR push, the album was met with widespread acclaim, instantly solidifying the band’s presence in the punk rock scene.

Determined to level up, Bridge The Gap returned to The Blasting Room 20 months later, this time more seasoned and prepared, bringing with them 14 meticulously crafted tracks for Gainsayer. Once again working with Stevenson and Jason Livermore (Rise Against, NOFX, Hot Water Music), the band pushed their sound to greater depths.

“On Gainsayer, we specifically chose a 14-song collection that best featured some compelling melodic roots vocally,” Jensen explains. “The priority was solid, catchy melodies, and then we built on it from there. Make no mistake—this record features plenty of killer riffs, melodic, ripping solos, powerful, nuanced drumming, and bass lines galore. But the foundation of this record is the strength of the vocal melodies and the songs themselves.”

With a powerhouse of support from Double Helix Records, SBAM Records, and Pee Records, Bridge The Gap is primed to bring Gainsayer to the masses. Keep an eye out for tour announcements and further releases as they charge forward in 2025.
