Flash! Mumford & Sons are back—and with a bang that’s sure to ripple from the leafy ponds of Wimbledon Common to sold-out arenas worldwide.
The celebrated British quartet, who haven’t graced us with an album since 2018’s Delta, will drop their much-anticipated new LP, RUSHMERE, on March 28 via Glassnote Records. As if that isn’t enough to set hearts racing, the album’s debut single and title track is also unveiled—consider it the opening chord of what promises to be a symphonic return to form.
RUSHMERE, dear readers, isn’t just an album title—it’s the touchstone of the band’s origin story. This
idyllic pond on Wimbledon Common was the backdrop where Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane first dreamed up the idea of forming a band. It was their sanctuary, their muse, and now, the inspiration behind an album destined to join the pantheon of their multi-platinum successes.
With a pedigree that includes two BRIT Awards, two Grammy Awards (one for the coveted Album of the Year), and headlining stints at Glastonbury, Mumford & Sons have written their names in the annals of modern music royalty. And let’s not forget their knack for selling out arenas and inspiring a generation of artists to follow in their footsteps.
The album was produced by none other than six-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb, recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio A, Savannah, GA, and Marcus Mumford’s Devon studio. It promises a sonic journey worthy of the band’s ambitious storytelling.
Since Delta, the bandmates have been busy exploring solo passions. Marcus Mumford released his eponymous solo album in 2022, and just last year, the band collaborated with Pharrell on Good People. Now, they’re reuniting in the spirit of where it all began, bringing their distinctive sound back to the forefront.
Mark your calendars, music lovers. Mumford & Sons’ RUSHMERE is more than an album—it’s a homecoming. Will it be another smash hit? With this band, the odds are as certain as sunrise. You can hear Mumford & Sons ‘Rushmere’ spinning now on Racketeer Radio KFQX, Our playlists on all digital streaming platforms and watch their music video for the single here.
And that’s its for now, folks. Until next time, keep your ear to the ground and your eyes on the stars.
