Tim Hause Rings in 2025 with Anthem for the Withdrawn: “No Call No Show”

Tim Hause has kicked off the new year with a powerful track that speaks directly to anyone who has ever felt the weight of isolation and emotional disconnect. His latest single, No Call No Show, blends poignant themes of withdrawal with an infectious blend of melodic riffs, tight harmonies, and just the right amount of punkish defiance. The song is the third single off his highly anticipated second album, Pre-Existing Conditions.

Hause describes the new album as the most authentic reflection of his musical identity yet. “Of all the art I’ve made, this record feels the most like a reflection of me,” he says. Though Pre-Existing Conditions marks Tim’s second full-length as a solo artist, it holds even more significance. It represents his sixth album as a principal writer, but it is the first record that truly stands as his artistic thesis statement—a declaration of his unique voice and perspective.

For much of his career, Tim Hause has been known in the context of his older brother, Dave Hause, contributing to the success of nine records with Dave while also joining him on tour for over a decade. However, as Dave himself puts it, Pre-Existing Conditions is a “quantum leap forward” for Tim, showing growth in every aspect—from singing to songwriting, playing, and production. Tim’s brother, along with acclaimed producer Will Hoge, played a key role in bringing the album to life. They helped curate a stellar studio cast that included Kyle Cook of Matchbox Twenty, Dan Andriano and Atom Willard of Alkaline Trio, among others, creating a vibrant backdrop for Tim’s emotive lyrics.

Tim’s musical journey has always been a path toward self-discovery, one deeply rooted in the realities of life and loss. “My life has been riddled with loss,” he says, reflecting on the hardships he’s faced. “Through the help of music, therapy, medication, and most importantly an incredible family unit, I have been able to cobble together a wonderful life in spite of events that could easily have been backbreakers if not for the village around me.” It is this sense of resilience that permeates Pre-Existing Conditions—a record steeped in loss yet brimming with new life.

Despite being part of a musical family, Tim has always forged his own path, gaining recognition for opening for artists like Will Hoge, Joe Pug, Rhett Miller, and Tall Tall Trees. His immersion in the craft of songwriting has shaped him into a storyteller with a unique voice, ready to share his journey with the world.

No Call No Show,” in particular, addresses that frustrating tendency to focus on the negative, even when life offers golden opportunities. “It’s frustrating to know intellectually that a situation is golden, and then have your brain focus like a tractor beam on the sliver of negativity in it,” Tim reflects. But rather than dwelling in self-pity, the song takes a playful approach to this mindset, poking fun at the tendency to find drawbacks in a perfectly good situation. “This song aims to poke fun at this proclivity, not take itself too seriously, and hopefully be made aware of this machination so we can attempt to dispel it.”

As Tim Hause prepares to release Pre-Existing Conditions in full, he promises fans that this is a rock record—one where any restraint shown on his first album has been unleashed. “Make no mistake about it,” he declares, “this is a ROCK record. I hope you love it as much as we do.”

With No Call No Show, Tim Hause is boldly stepping into a new chapter of his musical career, full of raw emotion and unfiltered rock ‘n’ roll energy. Fans are sure to embrace this anthem for the withdrawn and the defiant as the perfect soundtrack for 2025.
