“Mouse: P.I. For Hire” Unveil Exciting New Trailer and Gameplay Details

Indie game developer Fumi Games and publisher PlaySide Studios have unveiled the highly anticipated new title, “Mouse: P.I. For Hire,” previously known simply as Mouse. With a shift from its original gangster FPS concept, the game now promises an immersive detective experience set against a backdrop of 1930s rubber hose animation.
Originally introduced in November 2023 as a gangster-themed FPS, Mouse has undergone a significant transformation. The rebranded “Mouse: P.I. For Hire” now offers players a deeper dive into a noir world teeming with complex characters and a compelling storyline. The game’s new direction emphasizes detective work in a chaotic and corrupt city, rather than straightforward mob warfare.
The recently released trailer showcases this fresh narrative focus and introduces players to the game’s unique visual style. Set in a vibrant, rubber hose animation-inspired universe reminiscent of early 20th-century cartoons, the game blends retro aesthetics with modern gameplay elements. The trailer also highlights new weapons such as The Mauser, a classic multishot pistol, and The Turpentine Gun, which humorously erases enemies from existence in line with the animation motif.
“Mouse: P.I. For Hire” promises an engaging mix of explosive FPS action and noir storytelling. Players will assume the role of John Mouston, a private detective navigating through a corrupt and dangerous city. The game’s distinctive visual style and playful weaponry—alongside enemies that act like cartoon characters—offer a fresh take on traditional FPS mechanics.
The game is set to be released in 2025, with a PC version currently announced. Although no console versions have been confirmed yet, there is potential for future expansions. Gamers eager to experience this unique fusion of animation and FPS gameplay can add the game to their Steam wishlist to receive updates about its release.
As Fumi Games and PlaySide Studios continue to develop “Mouse: P.I. For Hire,” fans of both retro animation and modern shooters are anticipating its launch. The innovative art style and engaging gameplay are set to make it a standout title in the indie game landscape.
