The Linda Lindas, the dynamic teenage punk band, have just dropped their latest single, “Yo Me Estreso,” along with an accompanying music video. The track is the newest preview of their highly anticipated second album, No Obligation, which is set to be released on October 11th via Epitaph Records. The song and video feature a special guest appearance from the legendary “Weird Al” Yankovic, who adds his signature accordion to the mix, bringing an unexpected twist to the track.

‘Yo Me Estreso’ is a very personal song. Since it is about my own stress, my anxiety and overthinking in scenarios where I think people are upset with me. For this song, I decided to take inspiration from corridos tumbados, banda and duranguense, but always giving it our “Linda Linda” style of punk.

No Obligation, the sophomore album from The Linda Lindas, continues to push the boundaries of their sound, combining the raw energy of L.A. punk with post-punk, garage rock, power pop, new wave, and rock en español. The album was written and recorded over the past two years during school breaks and weekends, as the band members—Lucia de la Garza and Eloise Wong (still in high school), Mila de la Garza (just finished middle school), and Bela Salazar—balanced their academic obligations with their musical ambitions. The album opens with the title track “No Obligation,” a rebellious anthem where bassist and vocalist Eloise Wong declares, “I don’t got no obligation, just brush off all expectation.” This defiant statement sets the tone for the album, as The Linda Lindas continue to challenge norms and defy expectations with their unique blend of punk.

Since their viral performance at the LA Public Library of their breakout hit “Racist, Sexist, Boy,” The Linda Lindas have captivated audiences with their unfiltered takes on social issues, the trials of growing up, and the camaraderie that binds them. No Obligation showcases the band’s evolution as musicians and songwriters, while maintaining the ethos that has endeared them to fans worldwide.

The band has already released three tracks from the upcoming album: the anxiety-driven “Too Many Things,” the explosive “Revolution / Resolution,” and the catchy lead single “All In My Head.” With each member contributing to the writing and lead vocals, the songs reflect the individuality of the members while maintaining a cohesive sound that is unmistakably The Linda Lindas.

As they gear up for the release of No Obligation, The Linda Lindas are currently on tour with Green Day as part of The Saviors Tour, celebrating the anniversaries of Green Day’s iconic albums Dookie and American Idiot. They are sharing the stage with The Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid, while also headlining their own shows throughout the tour.
